  1. We are so sorry, our sympathy is with you. Think good thoughts, he is running in green fields now and his struggle is over. If he was with you today he would be trying to comfort you by wagging his tail and giving you comfort, we hope you find comfort in his memory, that is what he would want for you.

    Trudi,

I am so, so sorry. I have been thinking of you all day Earnhardt knows how much you loved him. You rescued him, saved his life, and gave him such a wonderful home and so much love. He lived the life every dog deserves after you rescued him. He is free of pain now and in heaven. I am praying for you.

I am a rescue Golden too so I know Earnhardt will always be showing you his love, now in other ways. After all, you guys loved eachother best! Mom says this little poem still helps her when she is sad about my big sister Goldens. We hope it comforts you too.

And if I go, while you are still here…
Know that I still live on,
    Vibrating to a different measure,
Behind a thin veil that you cannot see through.
You will not see me, so you must have faith.
I will wait there for the time when we can soar together again.
Until then, live your life to the fullest.
And when you need me, just whisper my name in your heart. . .
    I will be there.

    Trudi,
Our thoughts and love are with you tonight. It just stopped snowing here and the stars are out. We will go out and find the brightest one that I sure is helping your boy to the Rainbow Bridge to run free and play with all those who have gone before him.
A hug to you dear friend, we will keep you in our prayers.
    Happy Trails dear Earnhardt….

    Dear Trudi,
I heard about Earnhardt via Mogley. I’m so sorry. I truly believe our beloved pets who have passed still appreciate the love and care we gave them while they were here with us. I skimmed some of your other blog entries. You have had trials in your life but you have a big heart which still grows despite the hurts.
    My thoughts are with you,
    Ellen

  12. Stella says:

We did not know Earnhardt but we do know the pain of losing a beloved dog and for that, we want to send you our heartfelt sympathies. I read in another writer’s comment that your dog was a rescue and that alone is such a blessing to your dog and you.

    Blessings,

  14. Kathy & the Furkin says:

Dear Trudi – I heard about Earnhardt and am deeply saddened. He is now happy, healthy, and watching you from the Bridge! I am sure he is filled with love for you and I’ll bet he shows you how much, from time to time, by stealing a moment with you, when you need him most and even when you might not know he is there, just to make sure you are all right. His fur siblings will probably get a visit from their fur brother, now and then, too, watch for their wagging tails and expressions of recognition, when they realize he is spending some time with them. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Sending you hugs!

    Trudi,

I am thinking of you today and saying prayers. Earnhardt is free and I know so grateful for your allowing him not to be weak and sick any more. He knows how much you love him, and is smiling down on you from the Rainbow Bridge. I’m saying so many prayers for you.

  17. Trudi, Mogley told us of your loss.

My Human is all teary after reading all the wonderful caring comments from everyone.

When she her long time (rescue) companion of 16 yrs left her for the journey to the Rainbow Bridge, a dear friend told her something that has made “getting on” with life a wee easier. He reminded her that the grief she felt was for herself, for no longer having her retriever at her side, not for her companion being in Heaven. Then he said that her boy would be by her side always, walking in the fields, laying at her feet…just open her mind and feel…

Momma said that once she realized what “gone but not forgotten” really meant, she was able to move on and rescue my big (Angel) sister who paved the way for me!

Earnhardt will be by your side, guiding you…always…whenever you need him.

The loss of a loved one stabs deep into the Heart and Soul. My paws are crossed and Momma sends you prayers.

  18. Marie says:

Trudi I wanted to send my condolences in a proper way.

Like others have said, it is so hard to let them go but sometimes it is the kindest thing to do. You know the feeling of loss from past loves that are gone. You know that the pain eases with time but you never forget. Hopefully there will soon be lots of good memories in place of the hurt.

Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers in this difficult time dear lady.

    Marie

  19. Tricia says:

    Trudi,

My eyes welled up with tears when I was on Mogley’s site and I just wanted you to know that Earnhardt had crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. My heart has been broken several time when our Goldens crossed over but I know they are in a better place and they are happily waiting for their Mom to join them.

I am sure you gave Earnhardt a fablous life and he is a happy boy waiting for you.

I found my way to your site and wanted to share my sympathies. My human family knows how you are feeling, and they told me to give you big woofs & hugs! I will say a special prayer for you tonight, and even get Nala to say one too.

    You have special angel. :)
